EBC LEADERSHIP

We are thankful that Jesus Christ is the head of the church. Under His direction, the pastoral team serves adults, youth and children with a shared ministry model. Pastor Stan, EBC’s founder and our pastor emeritus, is enjoying retirement but still lives to make connections with people and share Christ with them. Joel and Yves primarily serve in adult ministry. Nathan and Jon primarily serve in ministry to the youth and children. Sunday morning preaching responsibilities are shared among the pastoral staff. God has blessed us with a wonderful team of pastors that collectively shepherd us as they each use their unique gifts and abilities!

PASTOR EMERITUS

Pastor Stan loves the life God has given him. He and Donna have been married for 50 years and enjoy their five adult children and ten grand children. Together they enjoy cross-country motorcycling and outdoor activities include camping, hunting and fishing. Born in Flint Michigan in 1939, Stan was one of five children. Marrying his high school sweetheart Donna, he served 4 years in the US Navy. After a brief career in Real Estate, he knew that Jesus Christ, his Saviour and Lord was calling him into pastoral ministry. Having attended Eastern Michigan University, Stan received his pastoral training at Detroit Bible College and Midwestern Baptist College and Seminary. The first church he pastored was in Marlette Michigan, then under the Conservative Baptist Home Mission Society he established five new churches, the last being Eliot Baptist, where he has served for the past 25 years.

JOEL BEERS
PASTOR TO ADULTS
My short life’s journey began just outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where I was raised in an incredible Christian home with 6 siblings. On a sports mission trip to the Bahamas as a senior in high school I accepted the Lord into my life as my Lord and Savior. I attended Northland Baptist Bible College in Wisconsin and graduated majoring in Bible and Youth Ministry. God allowed me to serve Him as a Youth Pastor for 2 years in Pennsylvania and 4 years in Florida before bringing me to Eliot, Maine. I’ve served at EBC for 13 years now. I am so thankful for the call of ministry on my life and the opportunity daily to show people God’s love. My wife Heather and I have 2 children, Ben and Jordyn.

PASTOR TO ADULTS

God is Awesome! The story of my life is that God has called me and I am His servant. Whatever He wants me to do, I desire to follow after Him. My journey with Him started when I gave my life to Christ at 8 years old. When I was in junior high I made a decision to go to Bible College and that’s what I did after graduating high school. I started my studies at Word of Life Bible institute and finished my studies at Lancaster Bible College with a Degree in Bible and General Ministries. My focus in life is all about Jesus Christ… “To know Him and make Him Known!” I enjoy tech, sports, watching the stock market, studying scripture and just hanging out. My wife Deleena and I have 4 children; 1 spontaneous daughter and 3 very energetic boys.

NATHAN ROCKAFELLOW
PASTOR TO YOUTH

I’ve done a lot of far-out things, and I’ve got a lot of stories to tell, but my life isn’t about all that; it’s about knowing God and growing in Him! The rest of my story is just details…(graduate of Marshwood High School and Lancaster Bible College, cross-country traveler, backyard mechanic, Jeeper, motorcycle bum, Iron Butt Association member, outdoorsman, Rocky fan, Trekkie, Youth Pastor, dog lover, husband and father of two!) I have dedicated my life to serving the Lord and my greatest joy is time spent with my family. My wife Suzanne and I have 2 children, Abi and Ethan.

JONATHAN PRIDDY
ASSISTANT YOUTH PASTOR

Through my life, determining the Lord’s will has been an exercise in obedience. When I was in High school, all I ever wanted to be was a pilot. When I graduated, I heard God calling me to go to Bible College for a time. While in Bible College, I studied with the intention of entering youth ministry, working with teenagers, and here I am the Assistant Youth Pastor. I am so thankful for the direction God has given me through my short-sightedness, everything from where I am to the woman I married.

I have served here at Eliot Baptist since 2003 and have been on staff since 2010. I married my wife in 2013, and am growing to love her more and more. My time at Eliot has been so wonderful, and I hope to remain here through retirement. I love my church, and have loved it for a long time.

LELIA LAPLANTE
DIRECTOR OF WOMEN’S MINISTRIES

Eliot Baptist Women’s Ministry strives to encourage women of the church to be all that God has called them to be, and to use the unique gifts He has given each one.  We will equip women with effective tools to study God’s Word so as to live out the truths of the Bible and build up the Body of Christ.  We will extend our outreach to women in the community through friendships and special events.

KAY ROCKAFELLOW
DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”  Jeremiah 29:11

When I was a child, I believed this promise to mean there would be a gold paved road leading to a future filled with all I could hope for. “Oh Happy Days!” After all, I was a child of the King, surrounded by loving Christian parents, what could possibly go wrong?

As an adult, these many years later I can confidently say this promise is True. I have yet to see the golden road, and not every day has been what I had hoped for, but His plan, for my good, has given me hope secure. That is far grander than I could possibly imagine. How He has taken all my choices and used them to prepare me as Children’s Director here at EBC leaves me in awe and praising Him.

I am a mother of 3. Our family has grown with their 3 wonderful spouses and 3 beautiful grandchildren. I raised my family in Michigan and until Aug 2016 that was home for me. I am no stranger to New England though. I grew up in New Hampshire and Eliot has been home for my parents and siblings for 34 years.

I am so blessed to have a part in planting deeply Gods precious promises into the hearts and minds of the little ones of EBC. To watch them grow in their confidence of Him is surely our future and hope.
